June is going to be a busy month for PLX before we take a short break over the summer. We encourage you to join us for one of the four following events (or take in all four)... Tues, June 9: Lean Coffee - A structured yet agenda-less meeting designed for dynamic, peer-driven discussions. https://luma.com/qz0c8abp Thurs, June 11: Money Stories and Earning Our Keep - speaker session featuring Rich Mironov. https://luma.com/ppr0rbmh Wed, June 17: AI in the Wild - presentation and demos of our product leaders are really using AI. https://luma.com/svlp1kak Thurs, June 18: Beyond Feature Requests: AI, Discovery, and Strategic Product Thinking - speaker session featuring Holly Hester-Reilly. https://luma.com/wrh3s9b5 (Reminder that PLX events are for product leaders - i.e., people that are managing teams of product managers)
If an event filters participants, that's surely fine. Up to the event organizer. But make it crystal clear upfront, ie: we expect director level participants and other people shall not apply, and I suggest using bold text to add it to the first line to save everyone’s time. Even better, have a channel dedicated for director level. Why bother a broader channel when target audiences are not? Is it a calculated product strategy?
The channel's open to anyone who wants to post an event. Many events aren't relevant to each individual because of subject matter, domain, location or as in this situation, leadership level. So it's hard to filter in this manner on Slack. It's probably good practice for people posting events to list the qualifiers up front, but trying to create a separate Slack channel may not solve this topic. I like the idea of an open channel for executive type leaders. But generally people are looking for events in the events channel. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you have additional concerns or ideas.
I think I can create a best practice post and pin it to the channel. But thank you for the heads up.
